Financial problems can affect anyone, anywhere, at any time. With debt building up, paying your rent or even buying food for your family can feel overwhelming.
Money troubles may leave people feeling lonely, embarrassed and isolated. If your financial situation gives you more of an icy shiver than a warm sense of safety, help is at hand. There are many services to help you get back on your feet.
If you live in NSW and need emergency assistance please call the Salvos Assessment Line (SAL) on 1300 371 288. This number will connect you with the Salvation Armys Emergency Relief Assessment team were your situation will assessed by our qualified assessors. The assessment line is open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.
Once you have completed your phone assessment the SAL will advise which Salvos Connect site you can attend to collect your pre-approved gift card.
** Please note that we do not have assesors onsite so if you require an emergency relief gift card you must follow the above process **
If you're having difficulty paying your energy or gas bill you could be eligible for help through the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA) Scheme. EAPA is a NSW Government Scheme designed to help people who are having trouble paying their home electricity and/or gas bill because of a crisis or emergency situation.Speak with your electricity or gas supplier to find out what assistance might be available to you. If you're not able to arrange a payment plan with your supplier you may contact the church office on 02 9477 1133 "Option 2" to arrange an appointment to undergo assessment. You will be advised prior to your appointment what documents & ID you will be required to bring with you to your appointment.
