About us
The Salvation Army has been serving the community of Gungahlin since 1996.
We began under the name of Northside Salvation Army with the simple belief that God intended to make his love known to the people of a new and growing community in Gungahlin.
A small team of committed people prayed diligently for two years for opportunities to share the Gospel and to see God transform lives.
A congregation grew and first worshipped in Hoskins Street, Mitchell, before moving to the Scout Hall in Gungahlin, then to the business centre at the corner of Lysaght and Hoskins streets.
In 2013, we moved into our current location at 104 The Valley Avenue in Gungahlin and became known as Gungahlin Salvation Army.
Despite the name and location changes, we are still passionate about sharing the Gospel and seeing God’s love transform lives. We believe God wants to build his Church in Gungahlin and it is our privilege to work with God in building his Kingdom here on Earth.
