Generous Life Sunday 14 September 2014

This is a great opportunity for you to spend either some time thinking about God's generosity and our response or base the whole meeting on it.  Here is an idea for a meeting.

Meeting Theme:  God's blessings

Suggested Songs:

  • How Great is our God (Chris Tomlin, Jessie Reeves, Ed Cash  (C) 2004 Worship Together)
  • Lord Your Goodness (Reuben Morgan  (C) 1997 Hillsong Music)
  • One Day (ch 'So blessed I can't contain it, so much I have to give it away...) (Reuben Morgan (C) 1999 Hillsong Publishing)
  • Count your blessing (SASB # 396)
  • Give Thanks with a grateful heart (Henry Smith (C) 1978 Integrity's Hosanna! Music)

Ideas for in the meeting:

  • The previous week ask a few people to bring along an item that symbolises God's blessings to them.
  • In the meeting, during the singing of  'Count your blessings'  they share the blessings
  • their item symbolises and then place the item on the Holiness Table.

Kids Time:

  • God Pours out His blessings on those who honour Him.  Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you.
  • A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap.
  • For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
  • Talk about what the 'it' is.  It is God's blessings not necessarily money.
