Worship

Spiritual life development, authentic community, care for each other, connection with others, and service to our community are key parts of who we are and what we want to be. To find out more about any of our faith-based activities, please contact us.

Sunday worship

Sunday, from 10am

Meeting starts at 10.30am, and runs for about 75 minutes.

Sunday mornings at Clarence City are more of a meeting than a service. Our church meetings are relaxed and informal. Everyone comes together to sing praise and worship songs that help us connect with God in a deeper and more meaningful way. Through reading the Bible and teaching, we discover more about how we can connect faith and the Bible to everyday life in a safe and inclusive way. We have time for prayer and space for reflection.

Our music is a blend of more modern and contemporary songs, and older hymns — a little bit of something for everyone.

You are welcome to arrive any time after 10am for a cuppa and a chat before church, and we encourage you to hang around after as well.

Kids church

School term only

Children are a valued and important part of our community, and encouraged to be present, participate in, and make noise during our Sunday morning church meetings.

For the first (approximately) 20 minutes, children are invited to participate in our church services as we sing worship songs. We have tambourines, shakers, bells and other instruments for kids to use.

Children then head out for kids church during the second half of the meeting. Delivered in simple language that is kid-friendly, they learn about living life with Jesus.

During school holidays, we create extra space in our church meetings for young people, such as interactive segments and activities designed specifically for them to do through the rest of the meeting.

All children are welcome.

Bible study groups

Bible study groups

Tuesday, 11am (during school terms)

Church foyer

All are welcome.

We go through a passage of the Bible and discuss the things that stand out to us. We share what we think this passage reveals to us about the nature and mission of God, what the passage shows us about the nature and response of humanity is or should be towards God, and how we will take what we have discovered that day and apply it to everyday life.

Each session lasts for approximately one hour.

We also have a couple of other small groups that meet to read and discuss the Bible and its teachings.

If you would like to be a part of a group, or are interested in forming a new group, please email us.

School lunch initiative

Sunday afternoon

School term only

As part of serving our community, Clarence City Salvos provides over 700 lunches to secondary school students across our region every term.

At the beginning of each school term, we gather on a Sunday afternoon along with the Paddlers Against Poverty crew, and pack lunches that are dropped off at local high schools and colleges, for young people who would otherwise go without.

Packing the lunches is a great way to get involved with the community, hang out with like-minded people, and make a difference in the lives of young people doing it tough. The school lunch initiative has changed lives and improved outcomes for many young people.
