What is Just Brass
- A music program to develop young leaders
- Just Brass provides free brass music lessons to children from disadvantaged schools
- Just Brass is run by The Salvation Army in partnership with schools and communities
- The aim of this program is to transform the lives of kids through music
Each Monday within school hours, we deliver free brass instrument music tuition to about 20 students in Years 3-5 from Seville Road State School. After school the kids will be catching a bus back to Carindale Salvos for weekly Just Brass Band practices.
Get involved
All kids in Grades 3-6 are welcome to join the band and come along to Just Brass Band practices. Band practice will be held each Monday from 3.30 - 5pm and include a healthy afternoon tea.
For kids who are not students of Seville Road State School, tutoring will occur after band practice on a Monday afternoon.
The kids will perform four concerts throughout the year.
