Crossing Over: Discipleship

Whether you know it or not, something is discipling you - it could be your phone, culture, image or even shame and the past. You might not think of many of these things as being able to disciple, but when we reflect on our lives we can often see how we have been shaped or marked by these things. So, what would it look like to be marked as a disciple of Jesus? Is it getting to attendance, small groups, or it is just trying hard to be good? A discipleship journey begins somewhere and begins simply with turning; getting our eyes, hearts, and lives inclined towards Jesus. Cadet Reuben van Gaalen unpacks the life of a disciple - not how to do discipleship, rather how to be sustained in the flow. His focus is on 2 Corinthians 3 and three movements: turn, behold and become. When we turn to the Lord, the veil is removed. When we behold Him, we are changed. And when we are changed, we begin to reflect the Lord in the world around us. In a world that is full of stuff competing for our attention, the invitation is simple, will you turn?
