The conference slated for August 16th - 18th, 2024 is for Musicians, Artists, Creatives and those who want to connect with them to Build Healthy Communities and learn how to effectively use the arts in integrated mission. This years conference will have a focus on practical hands-on insights, workshops and demonstrations that help you build communities of hope in your local context.
Incorporating upskilling sessions for our flagship 'Just Brass' program as well as other engagement programs like Limelight Choir, Just Move and Singing By Heart (Dementia Friendly Singing Groups). With inspiring keynote speakers and opportunities for connection and celebration as well as moments of creative worship and inspiring conversations - this is one for your diary.

LIMELIGHT CHOIR
Limelight Choir is a new community choir program co-ordinated by Worship Arts Australia that connects vocalists, creatives and musicians in the broader communities in which our faith expressions are located. Singing a repertoire of contemporary and popular music the choir will connect with everyday aussies in a relaxed setting. The choir responds to a basic human need for connection and build trusting relationships and healthy communities. Through a shared passion for music and song, the choir seeks to share the love of Jesus in ways that allow organic faith pathways to form with people wanting to explore life, faith and meaning together. Worship Arts are seeking expressions of interest from Faith expressions (Corps) that would like to explore being part of a pilot program in 2023. Fill out the form below and we'll be in touch.
SALVO STORIES: JUST BRASS
TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH MUSIC
Just Brass is a Salvation Army program which is transforming young lives through music. As well as enjoying music the students gain confidence, teamwork and leadership skills, a sense of achievement and experience educational benefits as well. Some of the educational outcomes include:
- improvement in reading,
- more focus,
- happier and more contented
- a general increase in academic results.

SALVO STORIES: SINGING BY HEART
MISSION THROUGH MEMORY
The power of music, especially singing, to unlock memories is an increasingly key feature of dementia care as it seems to access parts of the brain that remain unaffected by the progression of the disease.
‘Singing By Heart’ is a program currently running in over 100 locations in the UK Territory and uses a mixture of secular and religious songs which span the decades. Every song within the resource is introduced by a relevant scripture verse and concluded with a prayer. The sessions are designed to encourage communication, recollection of memories, and fun for those taking part. It is also hoped carers will find the sessions beneficial through enabling time for them to relax, make friends and share experiences.

SALVO STORY: JUST GUITARS
CONNECTING PEOPLE THROUGH MUSIC
See how this wonderful community group in Perth is connecting people from all walks of life. Just Guitars commenced three years ago in Salvos Stores Fremantle Western Australia, and is now also based at Subiaco Salvation Army. Just Guitars is reaching a cross-section of the community who share a love of music and are connecting with our faith communities in organic ways.
JUST MOVE DANCE PROGRAM
Just Move is a new dance program for primary or secondary school aged students. The program has enormous positive impacts both academic and non-academic for participants including:
- improved confidence and body image
- academic achievement and social skills
- wellbeing and self-esteem
- innovation and 21st century capacities
A pilotprogram is currently running out of the Balga Corps in Western Australia with lots of positive stories of the impact of the program amongst the children and their families. Faith expressions interested in commencing a program can register using the button below.
