Submissions

The Salvation Army provided a submission to the Tasmanian Treasury and Finance Department in response to the public consultation paper on Player Card and Cashless Gaming.

The Salvation Army's submission as informed from our position as a provider of financial counselling services in the state, and of gambling harm services in other parts of the country.

The discussion paper focused on the practical questions of implementation and the necessary consideration needed to roll out a card-based gambling system, including the frequency of activity statements, and the length of cooling off periods, to the need for individualised loss limit information to minimise gambling harm.

The Salvation Army continues to work with governments to minimise gambling harm and will continue to advocate for harm minimisation approaches to gambling.
