Youth support

Arcadia is a youth transitioning program, incorporating Youth Transitions and The Redo Project.

Arcadia provides intentional, trauma-informed and developmentally sensitive learning pathways and therapeutic transitions for young people from 14 to 20 years of age.

Case or support workers can refer young people to The Salvation Army Arcadia Therapeutic Program. The program is coordinated by a Specialised Community Development Consultant.

The Salvation Army gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Tasmanian Community Fund.

Youth Transitions

This service aims to better prepare young people for leaving out of home care, transitioning from home, home-based or residential care to independent living in Southern Tasmania.

Youth Transitions supports young people to understand and build positive relationships with people who are important to them. It also helps young people to identify, establish, and maintain networks and support systems to assist them in their transition toward independent living, including engagement in community activities, employment, education, health and wellbeing.

Please contact Gene Leya, Youth Transitional Support Worker, for assistance.

The Redo Project

The Redo Project is an opportunity for young people to engage in a community project.

The program offers the chance to experience a working environment with productive outcomes, without the stressors of everyday working life. The project engages 4 people at a time to ensure quality assistance.

Participating in the project means you will learn: new skills in design through the support of a Master Artist or Trades person; how to work safely in a team and community; how to be an active participant in a social enterprise; budgeting and business planning; launching and marketing a product, and more.

For enquiries, reach out to Maggy Agrey on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, 10am–3pm.
