2025 Homelessness Week: 4–10 August

Everyone deserves to live in a safe, secure and affordable home; and to experience the 'good' that comes from secure housing — social connection, improved health and wellbeing, stable employment and more.

We believe we can end homelessness — for good.

Shepparton Salvos have a number activities planned to celebrate National Homelessness Week in August 2025. We'd love to have you join us.

Care Day

Wednesday 6 August
10.00am – 3.00pm

Care Day will welcome people experiencing homelessness or facing housing insecurity. Local services will provide free treatments and checks for attendees. Services participating include haircuts and beard trims, dental checks, podiatry checks, mental health check-ins and general health checks.

Registration not required.

Community Forum

Thursday 7 August 2025
11.00am – 12.00pm

Join us at a forum looking at the contributing factors that can move someone into homelessness, and keep them there. Content will focus on wider community and students. People with lived experience of homelessness are encouraged to attend to contribute their wisdom.

Please register if you hope to attend.

Walking Home

Friday 8 August 2025
11.00am – 1.00pm

Shepparton Salvos’ third annual Walking Home event looks to increase public awareness of homelessness, and so to reduce the stigma of homelessness. Participants are invited to join the with the Salvos as we walk round Lake Victoria.

Please register if you hope to attend.
