God is at work healing

God is at work healing

Praise God, because he is always at workboth in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

In the Gospel of John chapter 5 we read that Jesus is attacked by the religious leaders for doing God’s work on theSabbath. The scriptures record, “In his defence Jesus said to them, ‘My Father is always at work to this very day, and Itoo am working’” (John 5:17). Jesus knew to look to the Father to lead him, and when he saw the Father at work thatwas his signal to follow God’s lead and get to work, regardless of the religious leader’s feeling about the Sabbath.

Last week on Sunday it was amazing to hear some of the work God has been doing in people’s lives over the 3 weekseries of teaching on healing. I think it was amazing in itself that people would be faithful to seek God for healing. This is a true step of faith and obedience to God’s word, which tells us to pray for healing. And it’s amazing to hear frompeople that God has in fact displayed his healing power in so many.

God is present with his people.

This week the brass band was invited to play Christmas Carols at the Rockingham Shopping Centre as they welcomed Santa to theshops. Yes, Christmas is upon us. Some might feel that mid-November is a little early but we had fun ‘launching’ Christmas in our local shops.

Christmas time shows the extent of God’s desire to be with hispeople when he sent his Son Jesus into the world. Emmanuel, which means ‘God with us’. Jesus represents the God who wantsto be with his people; the God who desires to intersect in ourworld to bring life and wholeness. We’ve seen evidence overthese recent weeks that God still intersects our world.

Praise God for his amazing love.
