The Artists

Karen Edwards

Karen Edwards is a Christian artist from America who currently resides in London with her husband and the cutest dog ever. She has been interested in, and practising, the art of drawing and painting since she was five years old.

Karen holds a bachelor’s degree with honours (with concentrations in art, philosophy, and communication) and occasionally teaches informal classes in beginning drawing and painting. She works mainly in oil, and enjoys working with many different subjects and styles, though she has a special interest in portraiture.

Marie Hambleton

Prior to spending 22 years as a Salvation Army officer, Marie was employed in Australia and New Zealand as a TV Animation Artist, Set and Graphic Designer.

Marie is now in Retirement, her interests include Bible Study expressed through art and drama. She lives in Brisbane, Australia.

 

 

Peter Dalziel

A UK resident, Peter’s interest in portraiture and face studies commenced while living in Africa 1978-82. It was on one of his many travels through South Africa that he began doing quick portrait sketches of African children.

He has illustrated books, both in colour and pen and ink, produced wild-life studies, some in water colour or soft pastels and more recently in acrylics.

Lieut-Colonel Peter Dalziel has been a Salvation Army officer for the past 45 years. With his wife, Sylvia they have also been in the forefront of modern music evangelism, working in television, recording and song writing, gifts which they continue to use.

Haydn Rive

Haydn was born into a Salvationist family of several generations. He grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand. After gaining his Diploma in Fine Arts, he did graphics in Television WNTV1, Wellington. Haydn taught Art in Secondary Schools for ten years before becoming an Officer. Haydn has done illustration, graphics, animation and held several art exhibitions working in a variety of styles and medium. He has lived in both Zimbabwe and California. Haydn is married to Adrienne and has three married sons.
