Invite Someone

There are so many people that we interact with everyday that could be invited into our Church family and begin a relationship with Jesus. It could be the other members of your household, neighbours, friends, family or others that we care and pray for.

Here are three easy ways you can invite them to come along to Maryborough Salvos:

1. Start with Prayer

Before extending an invitation, pray for guidance and the right opportunity

2. Be Genuine and Personal

Share why church is meaningful to you personally, and avoid making it seem like you're trying to recruit them to your church. 

3. Keep it Simple

A casual invitation can be effective, such as, "I've been enjoying our church recently, would you like to come with me sometime?" "A good place to meet people"

4. Offer Details

Provide information about service times, location, and what they can expect, such as, "We have a service on Sundays at 10am, and afterwards we often have morning tea together. You're welcome to join us!". 

5. Consider Different Approaches

  Invite on Social Media

Use one of these graphics to post on your personal social media page to invite you friends and followers to come along. You can also tag us @maryboroughsalvos on Facebook and Instagram so friends and family can see what our Church is about.

  Send a Text Message

Here are some example text messages you could use:

"Hey, are you interested in checking out church? I go to Maryborough Salvos and thought you might like to come along on Sunday. We start at 10:00am 27 Wills Street, Maryborough Vic"

"Hey, are you going to Church anywhere at the moment? I have been really enjoying my Church and wondered if you wanted to come along on Sunday. It is Maryborough Salvos and we start at 10:00, 27 Wills Street, Maryborough Vic"

 Call or Speak in person

Start a conversation by asking some open ended questions, such as:

Do you attend a Church at the moment? Which one? Why not? 

Have you ever thought about coming along to Church? Why? Why Not?

Hey ___________

I would love to have you join me at church here at Maryborough Salvos some time soon! We have our worship services at 10.00am at 27 Wills Street in Maryborough.

6. Be Respectful

Respect their beliefs and decision if they decline your invitation. 

7. Follow Up

If they express interest, follow up with a reminder closer to the date, and be prepared to answer any questions they might have.
