Brief History

William & Catharine Booth began an independent evangelical work of the ‘Christian Mission’ in England in June 1865. In 1880 ‘The Salvation Army’ (TSA) became the official name the same year it began in Australia.

TSA is an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.
Its message is based on the Bible.
Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
