We believe in good 

If you are experiencing financial hardship or are facing a crisis, contact us to find out how we can support you. We believe in good for you and want to see you get back on your feet. 

Depending on your situation, and what we have available, we may be able to provide you with vouchers for food, fuel or electricity. We can also help with referrals to other support services such as addiction rehabilitation centres.

Emergency relief

For all-year financial support, call us and a team member will have a compassionate conversation with you to understand your needs and let you know what help is available. 

When you phone us, you may be told you're eligible for a voucher and directed to visit us for collection on Wednesday and Friday between 10am and 3.30pm

To stretch your budget further, we have bread and limited vegetables available at Broken Hill Salvos.

No appointment necessary. Please bring your own bag.

Broken Hill adults and families housing support  

We offer crisis accommodation, transitional housing, and case management support to help people move into safe, stable housing.

Our service provides support to single women, single men, and families experiencing homelessness. For more information about Broken Hill Homelessness Services, please call 08 8087 5114.

We also support women and children escaping domestic and family violence. For more information about Broken Hill Family and Domestic Violence Services, please call 08 8087 1999.

Financial assistance 

The Salvation Army’s free financial counselling service, Moneycare, is here to help you feel in control of your finances. We can work with you to manage your debt, develop new strategies or you may like to explore our free eBook. We can also point you in the right direction for a No Interest Loan.

If the joy of the festive season feels out of reach, contact us. We may be able to support you with a food or toy hamper.

Staying Home Leaving Violence provides resources, referrals and advocacy for women and children who are experiencing or escaping domestic violence: 08 8088 2520.
