In 2005, Ballarat Corps and Ballarat Family Support Services came together under one roof at our Eureka Street location. This partnership grew from a desire to reconnect the worshipping and social expressions of The Salvation Army — and over the years, that vision has truly come to life. In 2008, we became known as The Salvation Army Ballarat Community Church, reflecting our united mission of offering practical, emotional, and spiritual support to the Ballarat community.
Today, Ballarat Community Church (BCC) serves together with Delacombe Corps as part of the Greater Ballarat Salvos ministry. While each site maintains its own local identity, we work as one team to share the love of Jesus across the wider Ballarat region.
BCC is led by the Greater Ballarat Salvos (GBS) team, which includes Major Peter Walker (Corps Officer Team Leader), Major Zane Haupt, Captain Marika Haupt, Captain Amy Jones, and Emily Howard (Corps Officer Team Members). Together with our dedicated staff, leaders, and volunteers, we seek to live out God's love through practical service, pastoral care, and community engagement.
Each week, BCC connects with the local community through a range of ministries, including food assistance, case management, financial counselling (Moneycare), op shops, a men's shed, a donation-based café, and our Sunday worship service.
As part of The Salvation Army in Australia, we are committed to living out this shared vision:
Wherever there is hardship or injustice,
Salvos will live, love and fight alongside others
to transform Australia one life at a time
with the love of Jesus.
