To support our work in the community, give a tax-deductible donation online.

We appreciate your donations of pre-loved quality clothes, books, toys and homewares. We do also accept mattresses without stains, rips or holes and furniture that is in good condition and doesn’t need repairs.
It is our preference for donations to be taken in-store during opening hours. For larger items, we can organise pick-up within a 15-minute radius of Atherton.
An after-hours donation bin is available at our Tolga store in the Tostevin Street car park. We ask that items are not left out in the open as they are vulnerable to weather and theft.
Fun fact: when we have clothing that is not quite suitable for sale, or has not been sold after a period of time, those items are sent to a company called One Ten which bundles them into shipments that go to developing nations.

As a Family Store volunteer, you can help with retail duties such as customer service and building displays, general maintenance tasks including repairs and restoration of furniture and appliances and production needs such as sorting donations and tagging and pricing clothing.

The work of The Salvation Army in the local community often relies on a team of volunteers.
Opportunities at Atherton Salvos include administration, gardening, community events and programs, hospitality and more.
When expressing your interest, please let us know where you’d like to volunteer and when you’re available.
