Join one of Australia’s most respected not-for-profit aged care providers!
Whether you are searching for a career in Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living or Home Care, we have job opportunities to suit different skills and levels of experience across Australia. Positions include Registered Nurses, Care Service Employees (also known as Carers and Care Workers), clinical leaders and managerial roles, as well as a range of corporate service and professional positions across finance & accounting, marketing, human resources, business development, aged care quality and aged care funding (AN-ACC).
By working in aged care, you will make a tangible impact on the lives of older Australians, no matter the role you choose. You will also enjoy a range of rewards and benefits as an employee of The Salvation Army Aged Care.

Every person is unique, with their own life story, history, likes and dislikes. We have a holistic approach to care where we commit to meeting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents and clients.
We are looking for individuals who share The Salvation Army's values to make a real difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our community. As an employee, you will be supported at work and throughout your career to ensure that you can uphold these values while finding your work rewarding.
Salary packaging
As a not-for-profit organisation, The Salvation Army Aged Care employees have access to salary packaging. Under this arrangement, employees can receive part of their pre-tax salary in the form of non-cash benefits. This can include items like car (novated lease), mortgage, rent and living expenses. Additional benefits such as meals, entertainment and accommodation can also be included. By receiving these benefits before the tax is applied, employees reduce their taxable income and therefore increase their take-home pay.
This benefit is available to all employees.
Diversity and inclusion
We value people of all cultures, languages, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions and intersex status.
With over fifty languages spoken amongst our workforce, we have a remarkably diverse workforce that contributes to a rich work culture.
As a workplace and organisation, we are proudly committed to being fully inclusive.

Earn & Learn Program - Care Service Employees
To work as a Care Service Employee with us, you traditionally would require a Certificate III in Individual Support or similar qualification. In the Earn & Learn program, you will be given the opportunity to work at The Salvation Army Aged Care as a Care Service Employee while you complete your Certificate III in Individual Support or a similar qualification. This program is available in all our locations across Australia.
Traineeships
A traineeship is a type of vocational training that combines both work and learning. In contrast to most aged care courses that blend theoretical and practical training, traineeships prioritise practical experience. By combining theoretical and employment-based learning, traineeships aim to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career.
In the case of aged care traineeships, you will study via a workplace delivery mode while working in one of our aged care services. Most traineeships take between 1-2 years to complete, allowing for a rapid acquisition of knowledge and skills without getting overwhelmed by coursework. Traineeships emphasise hands-on experience to improve practical understanding of the sector.
Government incentives are available for trainees under our program.
Graduate Nurse Program
Our Graduate Nurse Program is designed to guide and support newly qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) as they begin their careers in aged care. The program also welcomes experienced RNs from other healthcare areas who are looking to transition into the aged care sector, as well as Aged Care Nurse Practitioners seeking further professional development.
The program empowers nurses to adopt a critical approach to identifying a person's specific needs and values, assessing their care requirements and planning and delivering the most appropriate individualised care.
A team of experienced Registered Nurses will support and mentor all participants, and a Graduating Certificate will be presented upon completion of the program.
The benefits of workplace training
Workplace training offers a unique range of benefits that classroom-based learning does not provide.
