The Salvation Army welcomes the opportunity to make this submission on the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Drug Testing Trial) Bill 2019 (the Bill). The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of social services and programs in Australia. We provide extensive alcohol and other drug services for the most marginalised and socially excluded individuals. We offer a range of programs including withdrawal management, residential rehabilitation, non-residential rehabilitation, community programs and harm reduction interventions.
