If you are experiencing financial hardship or are facing a crisis, contact us to find out how we can support you. We believe in good for you and want to see you get back on your feet.
 
Depending on your situation, and what we have available, we may be able to provide you with vouchers for food, fuel or electricity. We can also help with referrals to other support services such as addiction rehabilitation centres.

Financial support

We offer financial support all-year round. When you call, a team member will have a compassionate conversation with you to understand your needs and let you know what help is available.

You may be told you're eligible for a voucher and directed to visit us for collection on Tuesday or Thursday between 10.00am and 1.00pm.

Tuesday and Thursday, 10.00am–1:00pm

Come down to South Barwon Salvos and have a cup of tea and conversation with our caring volunteers. There is also access to a food pantry during these times, though supplies may be limited.

Financial counselling

The Salvation Army’s free financial counselling service, Moneycare, is here to help you feel in control of your finances. We can work with you to manage your debt, develop new strategies or you may like to explore our free eBook. We can also point you in the right direction for a No Interest Loan.

This service helps homeless people and people in housing crisis to find a secure home through providing transitional accommodation, financial assistance, intervention and advocacy.

There is also a statewide 24-hour helpline for immediate support.

Positive Lifestyle Program

This is a 10-week program of one-to-one sessions that take you through a process of developing greater self-awareness that can transform communication skills and build healthy relationships.

Topics explored include depression, grief and loss, goal setting, relationships and more.
