Taking the message home

We believe in family at South Barwon, and want to provide resources to equip parents with suggestions, activities and language as you help your children to navigate their spiritual journey. To aid this, most weeks we plan on posting a news update with tools to help you take the message home, similar to what was provided during Advent.

As it is school holidays, there is no Kids Church for the next few weeks. Instead each Sunday during January there is a special 'pizza box' pack for each child, which has the latest edition of Kidzone, as well as activities children can complete during the service.

We pray that these updates and special school holiday packs will aid your families in raising up spiritual champions in our children at South Barwon.

Moses - the Prince of Egypt
Today we commenced a four week sermon series looking at the life of Moses - one of the great heros of the Bible.

As a family, why don't you sit and watch the movie 'The Prince of Egypt' together? You will see snippets of the film during church over January.

The story of Moses has a rather graphic beginning...an infant placed in a basket to escape being drowned.

Gather some photos of your children as infants, and talk with your children about what they were like when they were younger.

Use the opportunity to tell them how much you love them, and talk about how just as God protected Moses, as a parent you want to protect your children. This may lead to a discussion about what that protection looks like in your household.
