Parent Survey Results

4 June 2012

THANK YOU for the parents who have taken the time to complete our South Barwon Parent Survey. We acknowledge that not all questions were relevant to all families and we want to say how grateful we are for those that responded to the areas that were relevant to their families participation. It was our first parent survey, and we are pleased with the participation and results.

Below is a summary of the results of the survey. Click here to see all the results.

We had over 30 families complete the survey, and the survey says (insert Family Feud music here!):

- Families agree with our fortnightly BIG kids club frequency (80%), and the current time of 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm (over 50% of respondents)
- Families are happy to pay an extra $1 or $2 so that food is included at BIG (over 75%)
- Families agree with our fortnightly Junior Soldiers frequency (75%), and the current time of 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm (over 50% of respondents)
- It's really encouraging to know that families talk about the topics from Kids Church with their children at least once or twice a month or more frequently! (75%)

In relation to the general questions asked:
- 95% of families are convinced that our children's team is committed to children!
- 50% of families feel the children's programs help them be a better parent - so we know this is an area we can improve on.
- 90% of families feel their children are safe at our programs
- Only 30% of families say their child is excited about the Bible because of the way it is presented - so we know we have some work to go in communicating our message
- 50% of families can tell that their child is applying biblical principals to their life
- 60% of families are happy with our communication - we hear you and want to improve this
- 60% of families feel there are appropriate opportunities to volunteer in activities with children

We hope that these result snapshots help you to see what families are saying about the children's activities at South Barwon.

In coming months the leaders here will continue to look through this feedback and improve on areas. If you have specific ideas of ways we can serve families better, including communication and providing opportunities for service, please let Graeme Mawson know.

If you would like to discuss any of these results further please contact Envoy Graeme Mawson.
