100th Anniversary of Bundamba Honour Stone
2 December 2019
On Saturday 30 November at 3.00pm, the Bundamba ANZAC Observance Committee acknowledged the Centenary anniversary of the Bundamba Memorial Park and Honour stone, by holding a special service and afternoon tea at the Bundamba Salvation Army.
Our very special guest was Mrs Elizabeth Jordan aged 107 and 10 months, who was alive when the Honour stone was unveiled! Mrs Jordan unveiled a commemorative plaque.
We were also able to have nine Ipswich World War Two veterans in attendance, adding a further very special significance to the afternoon.
A short commemorative remembrance segment was held, as well as the acknowledgement of service to a number of committee members who have served for 20 years or more.
Special mention to our Patron, WW2 Veteran Keith Pennell, who has recited the Ode on ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day at Bundamba for over 30 years.
It was great to have our Federal Member, Shayne Neumann, and our State Member, Jo Ann Miller, in attendance.
