Blacktown City Salvos has a ministry to the local shopping centres and railway stations in and around Blacktown. During the week several shopping centres and railway stations are visited by some of our uniformed salvationists to be part of the community.

This provides an opportunity for the "locals" to get to know some of the "locals" of our Corps (church). Through these meetings and conversations, the community gets to hear what we are doing first hand and sees the physical presence of the Salvation Army.

We visit these shopping centres and railway stations with our national publication "The War Cry" and with copies of "Kidzone" for the young ones. We are also a point of contact for donations. On a weekly basis, people donate to us for the support of our ministry and the work we do. Research reveals The Salvation Army is now one of Australia's most well-loved charities.

William Booth and other Christian Mission workers recognised this in the 1800's when they were first "reaching out" to others.

Blacktown City Salvos is happy to continue "being in the streets" in and around Blacktown and we are always looking for volunteers. Or if you at the local shopping centre or railway station, we are looking forward to meeting with you. Don't be shy, we love a chat.
