BOUNDLESS 2015 NEWS - 19th January 2015

A BOUNDLESS NEW YEAR

The Congress Office would like to wish you all a blessed and boundless new year! We do hope to welcome you to London for the 2015 international congress, Boundless – The Whole World Redeeming at The O2, 1-5 July, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of The Salvation Army.

This month, we are highlighting the theme of the third arena session of the congress: A Serving Army. General André Cox, in his now well-known I Dream speech, expressed, “I dream of an Army that truly reflects the mind of Jesus.” And what better dream to serve as the foundation of the third session of the congress and, moreover, our church, as we begin another year in the Lord’s service!
FULL SCHEDULE NOW AVAILABLE

With the congress now less than 200 days away, we are pleased to be able to share with you the full congress schedule. This includes the 7 main sessions to be hosted in The O2 arena, numerous concerts and seminars, the Boundless Film Festival, and the Boundless Musical. These events will highlight the many ministries, talents, and cultures of The Salvation Army as more than 15,000 delegates meet in east London to commemorate the past, celebrate the present, and innovate for the future.

We encourage delegates to familiarise themselves with the full schedule available atwww.boundless2015.org/boundless/schedule before individual tickets go on sale later this month.
ACCOMMODATION

As many of you will know, the Congress Office has teamed up with HelmsBriscoe, the world’s largest procurer of group rooms, to provide an accommodation booking service for delegates to the international congress. The company has negotiated with industry partners to ensure that 16,000 hotel rooms have been set aside for delegates.

All hotel rooms are in good-quality properties with ensuite bath/shower facilities. The rates include breakfast and all applicable taxes, and are fixed until end-March 2015. The bookings are also fully flexible until that time, meaning no cancellation fees or charges for room or date changes.

You can book, modify or cancel reservations at any time at
www.boundless2015.org/boundless/accommodation. Please note that all standard rooms on the site are available from 29 or 30 June through to Sunday 5 July 2015. Keep checking the site for new hotels and additional dates.
MIND THE GAP

We still need your support for the Mind the Gap international sponsorship appeal to help bring approximately 1,500 delegates from developing countries to the congress. We would like to take this time to share with you the testimony of a sponsored delegate, with the hope that you get a better idea of the great reach and impact of your gifts to the appeal.

Arbie Castro, a sponsored delegate from Manila Central Corps in The Philippines Territory, writes, “I look forward to a deeper and meaningful engagement in all the sessions. Armed with a deeper faith and words of wisdom, I hope that I will remain steadfast in my efforts in encouraging other youths to get involved in creative ministry in their respective Corps. My participation in this Congress will inspire me in my commitment to serve God faithfully through Officership.”

BOUNDLESS – THE WHOLE WORLD READING

Boundless – The Whole World Reading, the 150th anniversary year Bible-reading challenge, started on 5 January and will run for the whole year. In order to read through the whole New Testament, one chapter a day, readings are scheduled from Monday to Friday. Emails will be sent out every Sunday, and will contain extra content from writers and others who are involved in the challenge. Subscribe to these emails and other updates on the Bible challenge website,www.salvationarmy.org/biblechallenge.

The first email, on Sunday 4 January, was from General André Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox, including the encouragement to 'set aside a few minutes every day to read these life-changing words, to ponder them, to pray about what they mean in your own local, national and international context and for us as a potent Salvation Army'.

Booklets have been distributed to every Salvation Army territory and command. Please see your commanding officer for more information. You can also access the materials on the Bible challenge website. An app for Android phones is also available from the Google Play app store. Search for ‘Salvation Army Bible Challenge’ or go to
