Homework Club @ Mac Chap is a program for students (Kindergarten to Year 6) designed to assist with their education and learning. Formed through a collaboration between the Ryde Salvation Army and Macquarie Chapel, the purpose of Homework Club is to help children grow holistically by:
Students bring homework and/or other school work with them, and our volunteer leaders support them, offering encouragement and appropriate assistance. Homework Club operates every week during school terms on Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm - 5:00pm.
At Homework Club provide resources to assist in the students’ learning including access to Laptops, iPads, Wi-Fi, printing, photocopying, and a range of age appropriate learning aids and applications. A healthy afternoon tea is also provided to every student, as well as time for social interaction through games, conversation and play.
WHEN: 3:30PM - 5:00PM.
WHO: We accept students who are primary school aged children and in Kindergarten to Year 6.
WHERE: Macquarie Chapel, which is on the corner of Herring Road and Bridge Road, Marsfield (Homwork Club is run in 'Building 2' on the map below).
CAN MY CHILD PARTICPATE IN HOMEWORK CLUB?
To participate in Homework Club @ Mac Chap is completely free. No fees are charged to families and all costs are fully covered by The Salvation Army & Macquarie Chapel (and through the support of a City of Ryde Council community grant). CAN I VOLUNTEER AT HOMEWORK CLUB @ MAC CHAP?
Homework Club @ Mac Chap is run by a group of passionate and skilled volunteers from the local community. We welcome new volunteers for a number of roles including administration, tutoring, preparing afternoon tea, setting up and packing up.
