Parramatters - 1st October 2021
We hope you enjoy catching up on what's happening at Parramatta Salvos.

If you would like to submit anything to be considered for inclusion in our weekly church life update, please email parramatta@salvationarmy.org.au by 5pm Wednesday each week.

Join us this Sunday as we unpack week 2 of our series The GOAT - The Greatest of All Time. We'll be taking a look at Jesus as the greatest healer this week.

We continue to think and pray for you each in these uncertain times, and look forward to sharing with you our own roadmap for returning to worship at Parramatta Salvos in due course. Please continue to pray for our local leaders and our national leaders as decisions are made to keep people safe.

Remember, the church is not a building or a place we go. We are the church - wherever we are, whatever we're doing. God can use each one of us to share the gospel message every day and to continue building his kingdom in our interactions with others - yep, even online!

Bless you each as you continue to love and serve,

Kylie & Sarah

International Day of Older Persons
Today (Friday 1 October) is the International Day of Older Persons. The day provides us with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate, honour, support, and encourage the older members of our congregation at Parramatta Salvos.

We thank God today for the gift of seniors in our lives - for their collective maturity, wisdom, experiences, prayers and love.

It is our hope that they feel honoured and valued in this church community - today and everyday!
Brass Band Catch Up
All bands people are invited to catch up next Tuesday October 5 with special guest Brian Hogg. Brian is a Salvation Army composer and arranger as well as being the leader of the Territorial Big Band.

Vaccine Encouragement
The Salvation Army strongly encourages all officers, employees and volunteers to get vaccinated for the safety of our communities and workplaces, and in line with government advice. As we look towards a plan for reopening at Parramatta Salvos, we want to keep all people safe, and we know that this will be made more effective with a higher rate of vaccination in our community.

Spring Wellbeing Challenge
Thanks to all who took part in our Spring Wellbeing Challenge!

We have loved seeing what everyone has been up to in lockdown.

Below are our final photos from the challenge:

Health Concerns
Please continue to pray for Ken Drysdale this week as he continues to recover.
Thank you
Alice Nuttall would like to send a word of thanks for all the cards and phone calls she has received from folk in the Corps. Let's continue to pray for Alice in this time of isolation.
Praying through our Corps Directory
Each week we pray for people with surnames beginning with 3 letters of the alphabet. This week we pray for surnames G-J and we invite you to be praying for these people in your quiet time this week.
