This Sunday we wrap up our series 'Inside Out', taking a look at how we experience fear. We hope to see you online at 9:30am for church, and 10:30am for our virtual morning tea!

As many of you would have seen yesterday, the NSW Government released a road map for reopening in NSW. We will begin working on our arrangements for returning to gatherings and worship following Government plans. We will release our plans closer to the date, after advice from The Salvation Army Nationally and much prayerful consideration. Please join us in praying for wisdom as we navigate these uncertain times.

Everyone is welcome to join for morning tea today following our service.

2022 National Creative Arts Camp - Expression of Interest
The Worship Arts team is hosting the Australia Territory's inaugural National Creative Arts Camp - a camp experience that will bring together creatives from across Australia to share in a week of praise and worship through music and the creative arts.  We are keen to identify creatives who would benefit from sharing in this special experience, learning and collaborating with other talented musicians and creative artists.

CAMP DETAILS
Dates - Sunday 16 – Friday 21 January 2022
Venue - Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre, located 60 minutes north of Sydney, is secluded and stunning with sweeping views of the Hawkesbury River.
Cost - $350
Travel Subsidies - Flights for Interstate delegates will be subsidized to an amount that will keep travel costs to $150
Delegates - Youth and Young Adults [15 – 30 years]

Initially, the team are asking young people to register an Expression of Interest rather than complete a Registration Form.  Whilst there is growing confidence around vaccinations providing us a way to open up for events and camps over coming months, we feel an expression of interest is an appropriate first step towards bringing the camp to fruition.

Any young people who would benefit from this camp experience can register their interest at: https://salvationarmy.typeform.com/to/tXGEwqy5
Birthday Celebrations
Adrian Parker turned 21 this week! We hope you had fun celebrating, Adrian, even in lockdown!
New Book!
We are really proud of Jonathan Browning who has written a book titled “Do you see me.” Congratulations, Jonathan!

This book is a reflection on pastoral ministry and mental health care that brings together our mission to continue the healing mission of Jesus while seeking to give voice to just some of the many challenges that people might face.

In a mental health context, pastoral conversations navigate fear and uncertainty, shame, loneliness, veiled hopes, wearying losses and more often than not, a pain that is more of an inner turmoil that is quite difficult to describe.  The book outlines a narrative approach to listening to the stories and experiences that people struggle with, identifying some of the roadblocks to healing and presents a way forward for creating safe spaces to begin the journey of healing and recovery.

If you would like to order a copy of the book for $10, please get in touch with Jonathan at: Jonathan.browning@sjog.org.au
Spring Wellbeing Challenge
You are invited to take part in our Spring Wellbeing Challenge! We know that many of you have been keeping your 'body, mind & spirit' well during lockdown, and we'd love to see how! If you have been gardening, exercising, puzzling or getting creative, we invite you to send pictures of the various activities you've been doing to stay well in body, mind & spirit.

During the month of September, send your images to sarah.walker@salvationarmy.org.au and we will include them in Parramatters each week so we can see what everyone has been up to!

Below are some photos from this week:
1. Carolyn Hide: King Parrot in our front yard. Taking photos of these beautiful birds is definitely one of my favourite activities to stay well!
2. Jayne Combremont: My creative project for a subject on Revelation. A sculpture called "Hope within the book of Revelation."
3. Dot Griffin: Keeping well by doing Pilates - a side plank!
4. Neil Hide: Here's a photo I took at Mt Tomah Botanical Garden during the week while we were getting our daily exercise.
5. Anthony Eden: I’ve had some success with my first lockdown puzzle!
2022 Territorial Changes of Appointment
As many of you would be aware, Officers in The Salvation Army are appointed to communities and corps as part of their willingness to serve God through The Salvation Army. Officers sometimes change appointments to meet different needs and to enable the structure and ongoing mission of The Salvation Army in Australia. Changes for 2022 were announced yesterday for the Australia Territory.

While the changes this year do not directly impact us at Parramatta Salvos as Kylie and Sarah have not received a change of appointment, we ask that you pray for the wider Salvation Army in Australia and the many impacts of these changes on the lives and families of officers, corps and centres across Australia.

Health Concerns
Please continue to pray for Ken Drysdale who is still recovering from various health concerns over the past month. We also pray for Fred Fouracre who is currently in hospital.
Praying through our Corps Directory
We invite everyone to join us as we pray our way through the Corps Directory. Each week we pray for people with surnames beginning with 3 letters of the alphabet. This week we pray for surnames V-Z and we invite you to be praying for these people in your quiet time this week.
