MP vs Media Day 2014 at The SCG

As we arrive back to Oasis Youth Support Network (Oasis) after an amazing day at the Sydney Cricket Ground, we are so thankful for the support that we have received today. With The Hon. Mike Baird hosting his annual Members of Parliament (MP’s) vs. Media day, Oasis is truly fortunate to have been invited along for the day’s festivities, and to thank UBS and an anonymous donor for the $20,000 that they donated to support our Training Programs.

After enjoying a delicious lunch, six of our young people headed out onto the field to have a game with the MP’s and Media members to show off their batting and bowling skills. One of our young people proved to be a star player as he was invited to join the ranks of the MPs team.

“Heading down the Sydney Cricket Ground for the MPs vs. Media Day is such a highlight in my year. Not only is it wonderful to meet our supporters over a delicious lunch but seeing our young people enjoy a unique and memorable experience is something that really sticks out as a highlight in my mind”, Oasis Director, Major Keith Hampton said upon leaving, “Seeing the elated look on Jason’s* face as he walked out, all kitted up to join the MP team is something that I won’t forget any time soon.” ^{Names changed for privacy}

This is the 2nd year that Oasis has been invited to attend the MPs vs. Media Day. The funds donated will provide vital assistance to ensure the Driving and StreetMedia programs are able to continue offering hope and opportunities to our young people. Over 250 young people access these programs yearly and it is directly thanks to the ongoing backing of our passionate supporters.
