The Oasis Youth Advisory Board (OYAB) was established in 2014 to represent the young people who access The Salvation Army’s Oasis Youth Support Network services, provide advice and guidance on current issues affecting youth and lead the planning and implementation of special events.
The OYAB is made up of eight young people aged 16 to 25 years who have identified a need and acted to equip the community, Oasis staff and other young people by becoming a youth advocate.
The OYAB aims to represent the aspirations, views and needs of young people and participate in projects which aim to benefit the young people who access Oasis.
Every two months the OYAB meets full council and at other times sub-committees meet or communicate through e-mail to work on projects or discuss community events related to Youth Advocacy.
