In these unprecedented times we know that our services will be in high demand as people face the financial and social fallout of this major global event.

Right now, we are working with our local community, as we have always done, to ensure that we leave no one in need. This includes the people we have always been helping who are living in extreme hardship; people who have never needed us before the devastating impacts of this pandemic; and the people who have never felt as isolated and alone as they do right now.

Services on the Sunshine Coast

• Salvos Connect - With 5 sites across the Sunshine Coast, Salvos Connect supports those experiencing hardship to exercise greater choice and take up opportunities to access services available in their community. We provide a range of services, including case management, emergency relief, financial assistance and financial counselling.

• Just Brass – Supporting young people who don’t have access to instrumental music teaching programs. Just Brass gives students the opportunity to learn an instrument and participate in a band program.

• Doorways – Partnering with six local primary schools, the Family Doorways program engages and supports vulnerable families in the community, so they can rise above their circumstances and thrive.

• SCILS – The Sunshine Coast Individualised Learning and Support program, aimed towards those in years 7 to 10, is designed to support students social and emotional needs. SCILS encourages school relationships and engagement, as well as building resilience and improving participation, in a less formal and small group environment.

• Sunshine Coast Supported Accommodation - Provides temporary accommodation and case management support to families experiencing homelessness on the Sunshine Coast.

The Salvation Army SHINE provides temporary refuge accommodation and specialised case management support for women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence. We also provide case management support to women and Children escaping Domestic and Family Violence in the RISE project on the Sunshine Coast.

With God’s help we like to see people’s lives changed and help them find freedom from their circumstances. Donations made to the Red Shield Appeal help The Salvation Army achieve this, both locally and nationally.

We appreciate your support in giving to the Red Shield Appeal.
