Favourite Band Piece / Composer:  Symphony No. 9 in E Minor - Dvorak [FS274]

Dvorak's symphony in E minor, 'From the New World', was written in New York in 1893. The poetical expression of the central movements is said to be influenced by Longfellow's 'Hiawatha'; the scherzo being a forest festival [possibly Hiawatha's wedding feast], and the Largo suggested by the burial in the forest.
