Ground Floor, 69 Bourke Street, Melbourne
The Lighthouse Café is a welcoming community café providing free breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as support to people from all walks of life, especially those living on the margins of society.
The Café sees a range of different people accessing the service, including people who suffer from drug and alcohol addictions, mental health and general health issues, homelessness, living in boarding houses and rooming houses, asylum seekers and even international students. The Café is open to everyone and is there to provide support and a sense of community to anyone in need.
The Café’s primary purpose is about building relationships. Melbourne Project 614 offers crisis support and intervention, information, practical assistance and importantly, ongoing support for people in crisis.
There’s also a lot of history behind the Café, with historical artifacts positioned throughout the place to keep us at the roots of The Salvation Army.
