Young Adults

Enjoy social activities with other young adults—there's a wide range of activities and opportunity to meet with members of our various teams. You don't need to be on one of our teams however to be a part of Salvo Young Adults. In the past, we went to Bounce, Latitude, had lunches in restaurants and held movie nights.

In 2018, we begun our Level Up program, where the young adults play and learn new games together, and make new friends. Level Up is run on the last Saturday of each month.

Kidzone

Primary school aged children are in a constant state of discovery as they explore and engage with their world. They try out many new experiences and learn something every day. What a wonderful time for us to maximise a child’s natural sense of discovery when it comes to God and faith development. Another new thing for them to explore is who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them.

This KidZone adventure is on Fridays during the term, @ 4.00pm - 5.30pm beginning with an afternoon snack.

Feel free to drop your children off...or if you'd like, hang around for a coffee on us.

Cost: one initial $10 to purchase your child's KidZone T-Shirt. $5 weekly per family.

Contact Tristan on 0401691160.

Community Support Services

community support

If you are finding your self in need, please call us. Situations can happen at any time of life and leave us in a place of need. You are not alone. At the Salvation Army Manningham, we can support you through this crisis and get you in a steady position.

Our Community Care service is essentially concerned with food. We offer both groceries you can take home, and vouchers which can be used for food at Woolworths stores. Sometimes we can also offer furniture or clothing via a voucher usable at the Salvo Stores.

We are unable to provide cash or to pay outstanding bills etc. as we have no resources for this but can provide advocacy.

We participate in the Pathways program which provides case management if desired. We also operate a Christmas Cheer program each Christmas, providing toys and material support.

You are most welcome to enjoy our comfortable foyer, have free tea or coffee etc. while waiting for your Community Care appointment.

Our Community Care bus is also available to pick you up for our Sunday Celebrations.

Every Tuesday, by appointment PH: 9841 9179
Please leave a message with a return phone number

Music

Music has an extraordinary capacity to lift end engage all those who participate within it, or who listen to it. This centre recently commenced building a dynamic team of young musicians to assist in their work within the City of Manningham. The Salvo Music Team has evolved from the extensive community Christmas carolling provided by the Salvo centre throughout each Christmas season. This focusses on providing joyous carols, traditional and modern, for large numbers of listeners at shopping centres and aged care facilities.

The team comprises young men and women with instrumental or vocal skills. It supports Salvo community programs including, Sunday worship, and various other community events. The styles of music played by the music team range from the traditional to the very contemporary – from hymn tunes to rock. Participation is open to all musicians within the city, free of charge.

Do you have musical talent, instrumental or vocal? There is a place for you in this happy musical melting pot.
