- Opening Doors cross-target (adult & youth) homelessness access point (Initial Assessment & Planning)
- Crisis housing support
- Transitional housing support
Eligibility for Portland SalvoConnect programs is 15 years and over for both homelessness access point services and crisis housing support, and 25 years and over for transitional housing support.
Those wishing to access SalvoConnect homelessness access point services can be self-referred or referred by another agency.
When you contact our service we will arrange a mutually convenient time for you to sit down and discuss your housing related issues with an Initial Assessment & Planning worker. The worker will offer a range of advice and information about housing, accommodation and support options with a view to helping you to find a resolution to your issue.
Where appropriate you may be referred to external agencies or to our SalvoConnect Crisis or Transitional support programs.
Crisis Housing Support
Our Crisis housing support program has access to a property for those who are in housing crisis. You can stay in this property for a period of up to 13 nights. While you are there the crisis housing support worker will work with you to help you with any immediate needs you may have and to help you find other accommodation.
Transitional Housing Support
Our Transitional housing support program has access to 8 properties for those who are in housing crisis. While you are staying in transitional housing a support worker will work with you to help you with any personal or family related needs you may have, but their main focus is on helping you find suitable longer term accommodation.
You can stay in a Transitional housing property for an initial period of 3 months which can be extended if you are still working with your support worker to find other accommodation.
