Gateways Crisis Services

The SalvoCare Eastern ‘Gateways’ program is funded to provide 2 individual program responses which are targeted at families, single adults and couples who are experiencing primary homelessness and women and children escaping Domestic Violence. The Gateways program is one program that is provided under the ‘umbrella’ of Gateways.

Gateways
The Gateways program provides short-term crisis accommodation and intensive supports to all persons residing within the program. Accommodation is provided in a way of ‘on site’ self-contained units and offsite dispersed properties within the Eastern Metropolitan Region. Gateways seek to assist persons to identify issues surrounding their homelessness and makes relevant referrals to professional supports as well as assisting persons to locate alternative accommodation. A primary focus during the support period is on housing.

Crisis Accommodation and intensive support is provided to single adults over 25 years of age, couples aged 25 years and over, and families of any age with accompanying children who are homeless.

Referrals are made into Gateways via the Eastern Region Front Door system, and referrals can be taken 7 days per week from 9am—10pm. Gateways is staffed 24 hours per day, and operates 365 days per year.
