The Couch Project

Over 44,000 Aussies under 25 are homeless tonight, often because their family home isn't safe.

You can help the Salvos help them. Host a sleepover and raise money for safe refuges where young Aussies can sleep. Together we can give young people who are homeless food, blankets, counselling and support to get them out of danger and back on their feet.

Rebecca's story

There are many reasons why young people find themselves without a home. For Rebecca, it was a "father who liked to speak with his fists". Unable to stay at home, finish school or get a job, Rebecca slept in a hostel and then on her friend's couches. "But friends' patience can only stretch so far," she says. Watch her emotional story of pain, struggle and hope, and then find out how you can help people like Rebecca.

The Salvation Army acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.
