Rural Outreach Support Program

Brad and Angie's StoryRural communities in northern Victoria have been significantly impacted by drought, floods and fire. Brad and Angie had a thriving dairy farm until the drought hit and milk prices dropped. They sunk deeper into debt.

“We avoided spending any money. We’d even eat the throwaway fruit,” says Brad. John, the Salvos Rural Chaplain, connected with Brad and Angie and began visiting every 2 to 3 weeks.

For these communities, the Rural Outreach Support Program has enabled many people to keep food on the table, have someone to talk to and trust, and stay on the land.

“We’d be lost without John and the Salvos - absolutely lost.” says Brad and Angie.
