Balga Youth

At The Salvation Army, Balga we have a number of Youth Programs designed for those in High School. All of our programs set out to create an environment where young people feel safe and accepted just as they are.

We have a great team of leaders who are continuing to grow and develop themselves. They are hard working and give so much of themselves.

We have a huge range of activities, from our Friday Night Youth Program (BIG), Basketball, Girls Group (Small), Sunday Night Church and our young adults (for those who have left High School). All of these programs are designed in a way to develop and strengthen the young person’s relationships between themselves and leaders, their peers and God.

We hope that one day that through the young people connected and call The Salvation Army, Balga home that they just might transform the wider Balga community in the same way God has transformed each of them.

Youth Pastor

I am sports loving, guitar playing guy married to an incredible woman. In summer it’s cricket and winter it’s footy, but if it’s competitive I’m probably interested. I really am an average player but I love spending time playing guitar especially in worship, God really did something massive in my life for me to be able to play like I do. I married Sarah in 2010 and she really is amazing and I promise I’m not bias in anyway. She’s a great woman who I’m very lucky to spend my life with.

I have a deep passionate desire to see young people transformed by the love and grace of God, and to know Jesus as their Saviour. My greatest dream for the youth ministry hear at Balga is for students to leave school on Friday come to The Salvation Army over the weekend have their lives turned upside down by God changed from the inside out, bad attitudes changed to positive attitudes. Bad language and poor behaviour transform. Returning to school completely different and to have teachers ask who are you? What happened over the weekend? And for the young person to testify what God has done in them.
