Long associated with The Salvation Army is the Brass Band playing music in groups on the streets. This tradition still continues today with the Waverley Temple Band continuing to play in and for the City of Monash community. The band also plays an important part in our Worship services, providing musical accompaniment.
The Waverley Temple Band often presents concerts, including our popular annual Proms concerts. Click here for more information.
Music carries such emotion and passion that we believe it can speak God’s power to the heart and soul of the listener.
Here at Waverley, the "Songster Brigade" is the Senior Choir. They participate in the 11am services and throughout the year are involved in concerts and festivals.
The Timbrel is a well-known icon of The Salvation Army and is used as an instrument of praise to God during our Worship Services and as a means of attracting people’s attention in the streets and shopping centres.
They are also used as a witness and form of entertainment for other community groups, retirement villages and other churches.
The Waverley Temple Timbrel Brigade has travelled nationally and internationally and is intentional in training and equipping other timbrel brigades to continue this unique form of praise.
