The Salvation Army first published a newspaper (of four pages) called The War Cry in London on 27 December 1879.

Not long after the Salvos commenced in Australia in 1880, the first locally produced War Cry appeared.

Today, Warcry Magazine aims to challenge, inform and encourage readers to consider the claims of Jesus Christ and the Christian church. Exploring real people, real stories, faith and culture, Warcry Magazine is read by thousands of Australians each week.
