The Army's eleven Articles of Faith have, since 1878, been the
basis of the Army's witness to the Christian gospel. They stress
the importance of recognising our need of God, acknowledging our
sinfulness, the life changing consequences of entering into a
relationship with Jesus Christ, as well the importance of
maintaining our faith on a daily basis.
With a solid Scriptural base, they emphasise that our faith is
indeed a belief in God that has been acted upon in a personal way.

Mrs Booth, the wife of the founder of The Salvation Army,
decided during one of her husband's many services that she would like
to have a word. That night she preached, and she continued to do
