RE: THE FUTURE OF THE SHED SKATEPARK CRANBOURNE
Fourteen years ago The
Salvation Army in Cranbourne commenced involvement in the running of
The Shed Skate Park, Cranbourne. This was in response to a need within
the community for such a facility for young people.
Over these fourteen years The
Salvation Army has enjoyed being involved in the provision of this
service to the community, which has benefited countless numbers of
young people. We have
enjoyed doing this, being able to contribute to the community in such
a positive and constructive way.
However the need for The
Salvation Army to be involved in the running of The Shed Skate Park is
no longer there. The
Casey City Council has developed a new Skate Strategy, which will see
The Shed Skate Park move into a new and exciting phase of its
existence, and we at The Salvation Army are fully supportive of this
new direction, believing it will be of great benefit to our community.
All enquires regarding the future of The Shed Skate Park should
be directed to Mr. Andrew Butterfield at the City of Casey, ph. 9705
5200.
We at The Salvation Army wish
to thank all those who have supported and patronised The Shed Skate
Park over these fourteen years and hope that you have found your time
there to be of great enjoyment and benefit.
To celebrate our involvement at The Shed we are having a
celebration day on Saturday 29th December 2007, which will
be our last day of operation.
From 12.00 noon to 5.00pm will be for skaters.
From 5.00pm to 10.00pm will be for bikes. All admissions will be half price.
Whilst not being involved with
the running of The Shed Skate Park any longer, The Salvation Army
Cranbourne is committed to being a valued member and contributor to
our community.
