Responding to the needs of the homeless
In Victoria, The Salvation Army has been providing housing services to people confronted by housing crisis for over 100 years. It recognises that housing is essential to a person's well-being and, out of concern for the dignity of people, seeks to ensure there are practical housing services available to homeless people.
The Salvation Army has created its Social Housing Service (SASHS) to ensure a co-ordinated, high standard and broad range of housing services are provided.
SASHS has a vision of a society in which all people are able to access housing which is appropriate, secure and affordable.
SASHS exists to meet the housing-related needs of those people not able to access such housing.
