Organise a financial literacy workshop

You’re The Boss is The Salvation Army’s financial literacy education program. It’s about improving people’s ability to manage money, dispel the fear around budgeting and help make money work for people.

Our experienced trainers can visit workplaces to conduct education workshops on a range of topics, including:

  • Creating new money habits
  • Why a budget needn’t be scary
  • How to pay the bills on time
  • Sorting all those papers
  • Insurance that’s right for you
  • Making credit work for you
  • Don’t get down over debt
  • Everyday banking
  • Managing everyday expenses
  • Taking care of Christmas
  • Don’t forget your super
  • Shopping smart
  • Looking out for scams
  • Moneycare tips and other useful contacts

Each workshop is approximately 2 to 3 hours long and can be tailored to suit the needs of the audience and takes about 2 to 4 sessions to complete, depending on the group. Groups of under 20 are encouraged to help with the learning experience.

Please contact our Moneycare team to discuss cost, timings and arrangement of resources.

The Salvation Army has also developed an app as part of the You're the Boss program. The app is free and provides financial tips, information and other resources.
