Independent Living Programme

Provides externally supported accommodation to young people for up to 12 months, with the aim to support young people in their move towards independent living.

UNITS:

  • accommodate one or two people
  • are single-sex
  • have basic furnishings
  • are located in the Northern suburbs


YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO BE

  • aged between 17 and 20 years
  • on an income or eligible for Centrelink payments
  • willing to be involved in an approved daily activity (e.g. work, study, etc.)
  • willing to meet with a support worker weekly

SUPPORT PROVIDED

  • Life skills
  • Referrals
  • Advocacy
  • Information

 

HOW TO APPLY
Phone Crossroads West on 9328 1600 and ask to speak to the support worker from the Independent Living Programme.

A referral will be sent out to you to fill in and send back to us. If there is a vacancy, or if one is coming up shortly, the support worker will contact you to arrange an interview.
