Westcare delivers programs to children and young people considered to be at risk and in need of community support.
These services include alternative living arrangements such as Foster Care and Lead Tenant housing; Education Support programs for those kids excluded from the mainstream school system; and Transitional support.
Most Westcare programs are only accessible through DHHS referral. However, young people aged 16-25 may request Westcare's Transitional Supported Accommodation for Youth (TSAY) directly or through another agency.
Transitional Supported Accommodation for Youth (TSAY)
The Transitional Supported Accommodation for Youth (TSAY) Program provides a range of support services to young people, aged 16-20, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. TSAY's objective is to assist young people to access housing accommodation.
The TSAY Program works on a case-by-case basis to ensure every young person’s individual needs are met. Our ultimate aim is to improving a young person’s capacity to live independently.
TSAY support covers a range of areas, including:
- Crisis resolution
- Life-skills development
- Parenting support
