ENCOUNTERS CONFERENCE CENTREThe Salvation Army's Best Kept SecretThe Encounters Conference Centre is located in Victor Harbor and set beside Encounter Bay, with it's beaches, shopping arcades and attractions long favoured by Australian families.
The Centre consists of a Dining room seating 180 guests comfortably, our sleeping capacity is currently 150 most are bunk beds however we do have four rooms with 7 single beds, all of our rooms have toilets and showers in them . We have 6 separate meeting rooms available to our guests all varying in dimension, we are confident we have something to suit all our guests camp, conference and tourist needs. Ask our friendly staff how we can help with programming to suit your groups needs. Take the horse drawn tram across to the penguin colony on nearby Granite Island. Visit Urrimbirra Wildlife Park, the Wild Rose Cottages or Greenhills Adventure Park. There is an historical display at the Encounter Coast Discovery Centre. Ride the Cockle Train between Victor Harbor, Port Elliot and Goolwa. Look for Whales from on top of the Bluff or visit the Whale Centre. You could just admire the 270 - degree views along the coast. Drive into the nearby Inman Valley, with it's majestic roadway lined with huge gums, to view Glacier Rock (the largest glacial exposures in the world). Or, alternately, take the Adelaide road to Mt. Compass for Proteas, wine, cheese experiences and seasonal roadside berries.
The centre is within walking distance of most attractions, for guests participating in aquatics program these activities are carried out opposite the centre in Encounter Lakes. We offer our guests Abseiling, Mountain bike adventures Rock wall climbing Sea kayaking all conducted by certified instructors on or near our centre. (Prior booking absolutely essential) From our Centre in the hub of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island is just a short bus trip and ferry ride away.
