Types of assistance which may be available to you include:

Food Assistance

Nobody deserves to go without food, but sometimes it can be hard to makes ends meet. Where possible and appropriate we can provide assistance with this by way of a food parcel containing the essential items required to make a few meals for you and your family.

Clothing Assistance

Owning and wearing well-fitting comfortable clothing is an important part of everyday life. We have an extensive range of second hand clothing available through our thrift store, so if you are in need of something new or something special to wear, we are sure that you will find what you are looking for at our store.

Furniture Assistance

If you have lost furniture due to extenuating circumstance, or have just moved into a new home but cannot afford to furnish yourself with the essentials, then we may be able to help. We do rely entirely on donations to resource this assistance, but if we have the item of furniture that you require in stock, then we will certainly do what we can to help you.

No Interest Loans

One step forward, two steps back. Unfortunately this is the reality for many low income earners when it comes to applying for and managing credit. To help out in some of these situations we are able to grant small loans ($200 - $1,500) at 0% interest. Loans can be applied to a variety of specific products and services, and as they are repaid, the money goes straight back into supporting others in the wider community. This program is backed by WA NILS.

Positive Lifestyle Program

The Positive Lifestyle Program is a 10-module course used by hundreds of Salvation Army chaplains, counsellors and PLP facilitators throughout Australia. The PLP methodology takes participants through a self-awareness-raising process, focusing on personal difficulties they may be unable to identify or address. PLP looks to address discontentment, fear, anger and fatigue, which are some of the anti-social and personally harmful consequences people experience when relationships and communication processes break down irreparably.
