WA students go beyond the classroom
Seventy five students from ten schools across the Perth metropolitan area participated in The Salvation Army’s 2012 Beyond The Classroom workshops earlier this month.
The Beyond The Classroom workshops aim to educate and motivate students to create change in their communities by increasing their understanding of marginalisation in Australian society and equipping them with the necessary skills to make a difference.
A Mercedes College student found the program both informative and educating “A very informative program that helped me to realize the true extent of poverty in Australia”.
Workshops were held at Salvation Army Corps in Floreat, Rivervale and Rockingham in the early weeks of March.
The Salvation Army’s Create Change school programs are proudly supported by long standing sponsor Medibank.
Beyond The Classroom workshops can be delivered in-school for twenty or more students. For further information about the workshops click here or contact Keira Swayn by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (08) 9260 09514.
